How this wine tastes
The extensive Delea range reflects the full diversity of Ticino: connoisseurs will find in Delea wines the warmth and joie de vivre of Switzerland's southernmost canton. The former restaurateur Angelo Delea fell in love with the world of wine in Bordeaux and there laid the foundation for Vini & Distillati Delea. Today his sons Davide and Cesare run the company and delight with a wonderful range of wines, from the easy-drinking Merlot to the premium wines of the Carato line.
01/Colour
Ruby red with light violet reflections.
02/Nose
Powerful and complex nose with aromas of stone fruit (cherry, plum, a touch of peach), ripe berries (blackberry, raspberry, currant), clove, vanilla and hints of dried fruit.
03/Palate
Meaty tannins and a dry opening as well as a beautifully harmonious, full and soft structure enchant the palate; on the finish the aforementioned aromas reappear nicely, rounded off by smoky and toasted bread notes and a hint of minerality.
