How this wine tastes
The 42 hectares of vines at Château Faugères, the actual flagship of Vignobles Silvio Denz, lie to the east of the pretty town of St. Emilion. The sparse soils are characterised by limestone, and are tended according to the principles of organic farming. The cellar, created by Swiss star architect Mario Botta, quickly became known and famous as the “Cathedral of Wine”.
01/Nose
Delicate on the nose, dominated by red berries, effectively accompanied by a variety of herbal notes.
02/Palate
Elegant on the palate with appropriate power. Pale, earthy notes on the finish.
