How this wine tastes
In the highlands of Valencia lies the D.O. Utiel-Requena wine region. The Finca Casa lo Alto lies around 20 km west of the town of Requena. The extraordinary wines of Casa lo Alto – produced with Swiss-Spanish know-how – are highly popular with wine connoisseurs. The estate is managed by the Swiss oenologist Martin Rüegsegger of Haecky Drink & Wine AG in collaboration with the estate manager Cristobal Ruiz. Casa lo Alto has a great tradition: the 168-hectare winery was already founded in 1796. The buildings of the finca lie on a hilltop with a wonderful view over the fertile surrounding hills. The gentle rustling of the evening wind in the ancient pines, the scent of the cypresses, the lushly growing rosemary hedges as well as the dreamlike, Mediterranean climate make Casa lo Alto a very special place.
