How this wine tastes
The D.O. Utiel-Requena wine-growing region lies in the highlands of Valencia. The Finca Casa lo Alto is located about 20 km west of the town of Requena. The exceptional wines of Casa lo Alto – produced with Swiss-Spanish know-how – are highly popular among wine connoisseurs. The estate is run by Swiss oenologist Martin Rüegsegger of Haecky Drink & Wine AG, in collaboration with estate manager Cristobal Ruiz. Casa lo Alto has a long tradition: the 168-hectare estate was founded as early as 1796. The buildings of the Finca sit on a hill with a wonderful view over the fertile surrounding hills. The gentle rustle of the evening wind in the ancient pines, the scent of cypresses, the lushly growing rosemary hedges and the dreamlike Mediterranean climate make Casa lo Alto a very special place.
