How this wine tastes
The vineyards of Château d'Agel lie in the very best location in Minervois. The vineyards of the area around Agel, a sleepy little village dominated by Château d'Agel, differ with richer, productive soils in the valley floor and very high-quality soils covered with large stones, similar to Châteauneuf du Pape, on the high plateau above the château. These soils are the secret behind the excellent quality of this château, which was taken over by new owners in 2003. Their aim has been to become one of the best producers in the area.
