How this wine tastes
The vineyards of Château d'Agel lie in the very best location in the Minervois, in the Languedoc. The vineyards around Agel, a sleepy little village dominated by Château d'Agel, differ between richer, productive soils in the valley floor and very high-quality soils covered with large stones, similar to Châteauneuf du Pape, on the plateau above the Château. These soils are the secret to the outstanding quality of this Château, which was taken over by new owners in 2003. Their aim is to become one of the best producers in the area.
01/Colour
Intense, dark black-red with violet highlights.
02/Nose
Fine notes of oak, complex, concentrated and aromatic with toasted bread, mocha, chocolate, black fruit jam and plums.
03/Palate
Intense and powerful on the palate, with smooth sweetness and present but finely integrated tannins. Intense, long-lasting finish.
