How this spirit tastes
The 7-year-old Glenturret Peat Smoked is the second smoky bottling from the Highland distillery. Glenturret is the oldest still-operating whisky distillery in Scotland. In 2020 the core range of four bottlings and the design were revised. The elegant decanters were designed by Glenturret's new part-owner, the French luxury goods company Lalique. The Single Malt matured in American oak sherry casks.
01/Nose
On the nose robust peat smoke and sweet dried fruits accompanied by salted almonds and sweet, candied oranges.
02/Palate
On the palate earthy, with hearty wood smoke and vegetal peat accompanied by biscuity malt, caramel and piquant jam. Oily notes of tobacco and charcoal, chocolate, Brazil nuts and spiced coffee in the finish.
