Inici Priorat DOQ

Merum Priorati, with its modern winemaking, is located in the small town of Porrera in the far east of Priorat. The mighty Montsant mountain range protects it from the cold north winds, while night winds from the nearby sea bring cooling. Porrera is thus one of the coolest corners of the otherwise very hot Priorat. The vines appreciate this and reward it with finesse and elegance. The slate-dominated soils ("licorella") are not particularly deep, forcing the vines to root deeply, which brings the wines complexity, richness and minerality. Alongside international varieties, the grape variety spectrum includes the traditional Garnacha and Carignena.
