Maemod Margaux Single Malt - Single Cask No. LEW9 Whisky

The Maemod distillery (pronounced "määmod") from Grünenmatt in the Emmental is the insider tip for exclusive whisky and rum as well as other specialities. It has been awarded multiple times internationally too - e.g. Gold from Distisuisse, 91 points from Falstaff, or as annual winner of Berner Früchte. Owner Stephan Debrunner is, among other things, a trained food technologist, mechanical engineer and brewing and malting master. He oversees the entire production, from the selection of raw materials, the mash, multiple distillation with the new wood-fired still without automation, right through to the selection of the cask and maturation. In addition to experience, expertise and time, a good nose and craftsmanship are essential. The treasures mature in a great variety of casks: for example, oak casks from France, Germany, the USA, Japan or Switzerland; new ones or those previously used for sherry, port, beer, liqueur, whisky, etc.
