How this spirit tastes
The Balvenie Distillery was founded in 1892 by William J. Grant. For 60 years, David Stewart, now Malt Master, has shaped the whisky of this Speyside distillery. It was also he who invented “wood finishing” in 1982 - a process in which the single malt is given a short additional maturation in a selected cask.
01/Nose
On the nose sweetish with vanilla and honey, plus a touch of sherry.
02/Palate
Smooth and soft on the palate with complex aromas. Sweet-nutty taste with sherry notes and cinnamon. Long and warming aftertaste.
