How this wine tastes
Giovanni Panizzi discovered his love for Tuscany at a young age. With the purchase of the winery near San Gimignano in 1979, he fulfilled his wish to live in the region and produce his own wine there. After many experiments, the first bottle of Vernaccia di San Gimignano came onto the market in 1989.
Vernaccia has a long history, going back to the 13th century. As early as 1276, Vernaccia di San Gimignano was already being traded. The name originates from the word 'vernacolo', meaning roughly 'local'. San Gimignano, built on the foundations of Etruscan houses, was a major power in the Middle Ages. Of the original 72 towers, 15 remain today.

Very long start, complex, powerful structure, dense, lingering flavour on the palate, ending in the finish with aromas of ripe fruit.
