How this spirit tastes
The Isle of Arran lies in a large bay between Campbeltown and the Glasgow region. A single road runs around the island, which is dotted with rocky landscapes, fields and moors. Right in the north, near Lochranza, the Isle of Arran Distillers have been located since 1995 and, like so many of their competitors, claim to have the purest water in all of Scotland. Apart from that, only yeast and barley (of the Optic and Oxbridge varieties) go into the large copper fermentation vessels. Their single malts are finally labelled "The Arran Malt", giving the islanders every reason to be proud of "their distillery".
01/Nose
Vanilla is present first on the nose, followed by exotic fruits and a hint of cocoa.
02/Palate
On the palate with citrus aromas, a touch of cinnamon as well as subtle oak notes in the background.
