How this wine tastes
Bodegas El Nido is the joint project of Juan Gil, Jorge Ordoñez, one of the leading American importers of Spanish wines, and Chris Ringland, an Australian producer of highly rated wines. Such a gathering of experts in Jumilla can only mean one thing: world-class wines! The grapes come from 12 ha of Cabernet Sauvignon and 32 ha of very old Monastrell vineyards with very low yields. To prevent damage during harvest, the grapes are picked into small baskets. This is followed by a further very strict selection.
01/Colour
Beautiful cherry red with a garnet rim
02/Nose
Intense nose, where blackberries and blueberries emerge. Also candied fruit, coffee, cocoa and liquorice. Very fine and elegant.
03/Palate
A very intensely flavoured, powerful wine. Concentrated, sweet tannins. Long and elegant finish. Clio is the absolute cult wine from Jumilla!
