This rum relies above all on a charming, quite pronounced sweetness in its nose and on the palate, yet never comes across as too sweet. On the nose it convinces not only with vanilla, as most long-aged rums do, but also with an accompanying note of molasses. Plum and caramel round off the subtle yet memorable nose. The palate follows the same combination of sweetness and softness. The premium rum from Ron Matusalem is creamy on the palate and rounds off the enjoyment with fruity notes. It has a long, dry finish.
