How this wine tastes
The Argentine pioneer company Salentein was founded in 1992 by the Dutch businessman Mijndert Pon. The striking bodega is built in the shape of a cross, where the wines mature 8 metres below ground in a barrique cellar reminiscent of an amphitheatre. The vineyards for the Barrel Selections lie in the heart of the Uco Valley at 1050 to 1700 metres above sea level. The nights are cool and the days sunny and warm. The altitude and the special climatic conditions make the Uco Valley one of the most privileged wine regions in South America.
01/Nose
On the nose, it entices with its variety-typical and expressive aromas. These are notes of blackcurrants and wild berries, joined by nuances of spice.
02/Palate
On the palate, one senses the ripe, velvety and rounded tannins, generous and full-bodied in taste, with a very long and lingering finish.
