Quercegobbe Merlot Rosso IGT - Petra

Petra is part of Vittorio Moretti's empire. The Lombard construction entrepreneur is primarily famous in the wine world for his excellent Bellavista sparkling wines from Franciacorta. In 2003 he inaugurated the estate in the Maremma, designed by Mario Botta, which is run by his daughter Francesca. The trained oenologist had, so to speak, carte blanche: practically all the facilities were newly built. The largest part of production is Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon vines. Smaller stocks of Sangiovese and Syrah are also present. All plots are planted at maximum density, and part is farmed according to organic principles (in conversion). The hillside sites benefit from natural drainage and optimal sun exposure.
