Petra Rosso IGT

Petra is part of Vittorio Moretti's empire. The Lombard entrepreneur is primarily famous in the wine world for his excellent Bellavista sparkling wines from Franciacorta. In 2003 he inaugurated the estate in the Maremma, designed by Mario Botta, which is run by his daughter Francesca. The trained oenologist had something of a free hand: practically all the facilities were newly built. The largest part of production is devoted to Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon vines. Smaller plantings of Sangiovese and Syrah are also present. All parcels are planted at maximum density, part of which is farmed according to organic principles (in conversion). The hillside sites benefit from natural drainage and optimal sun exposure.
