How this wine tastes
The year 1991 marks the beginning of the success story of Badet-Clément and Les Jamelles. The couple Catherine and Laurent Delaunay began producing the Les Jamelles line of Vins de Pays d'Oc in Languedoc-Roussillon, based primarily on single-variety wines. Since then, Badet-Clément has become one of the most successful French export wineries. The originality and quality of the Les Jamelles wines are continuously recognised by the international specialist press and international competitions. Languedoc-Roussillon refers to the entire region in southern France. Although the south-westernmost part - the Roussillon - has a noticeably different character, it is often grouped together administratively. In terms of volume and the economic importance of viticulture, it is unquestionably the largest wine-growing region in France. Through targeted grubbing-up programmes initiated by the EU at the beginning of the 21st century, quantity was massively reduced. However, it remains the main production area for Vin de table. The vast majority of the vines stand on flat, low-lying alluvial land, particularly in the southern part of the Hérault and Gard departments. In the northern Hérault and western Aude, on the other hand, the vineyards are planted up to a few hundred metres high on varying soils, including gravel and limestone. The climate is distinctly Mediterranean everywhere except at the extreme western border. The main threat to viticulture is drought. The grape varieties planted in Languedoc are Carignan, Grenache, Cinsault, Syrah, Mourvèdre, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon.
01/Colour
Pale yellow with slight green reflections.
02/Nose
On the nose rich and aromatic, with scents of fruits and herbs derived from the Sauvignon grape (blackcurrant, passion fruit, green tomato, wild strawberry, lemon).
03/Palate
On the entry this Sauvignon Blanc is slightly lively and somewhat sweetish, harmonious, quite soft and medium-bodied. The exotic fruits are also present on the palate, accompanied by a touch of vegetal aromas.

Pairs with Asian specialities and saltwater fish, but also a wonderful aperitif wine.
