How this wine tastes
This wine comes from a special vineyard just outside Piesport. A few years ago, Daniel, Marco Niepoort and Philipp Kettern discovered the Leiwener Josefberg and invested in its potential. They bought this young vineyard because the vines are planted on terraces in double rows, just like those of the Douro Valley. These «Socalcos» give the wine its name. Riesling is a wonderful ambassador of its terroir. The slate here is world-famous and 400 million years old!

Medium-dense gold with grey reflections
02/Nose
Intense, varietally clear nose of mirabelle plums and apricots, a fresh, slightly citrus touch, mineral-earthy nuances.
03/Palate
A present, lively opening, medium-bodied, juicy acidity combines perfectly with an alluring fruit sweetness, long-lasting flavours on the palate. A wine with a fabulous drinking flow that brilliantly showcases its origin.
