Studer's Swiss Highland Dry Gin

Where the Swiss hill country slowly transitions into the snow- and glacier-covered mountains lies the tranquil Escholzmatt. Amid this idyllic natural and village setting, the Distillerie Studer has made a name for itself since 1883. The modern family-run business has received several awards for its absinthe and its appealing bottle design. The Swiss Highland Dry Gin presents itself in a rather mystical way on the outside - after all, the black 70cl bottle gives no hint of what exactly awaits you. However, there is no reason to be afraid: the gin contains spicy, partly regionally sourced botanicals such as juniper, lemongrass, lavender, ginger, coriander and cubeb pepper, all of which are distilled individually. Only at the end does an aromatic blend emerge. Incidentally, the recipe dates back to 1888, when Robert Studer brought back the all-important notes from his travelling and apprenticeship years in England. Overall, the Swiss Highland Dry Gin has a high recognition value and stands out from the crowd through its origin story, its production method and its opaque bottle alone.
