How this spirit tastes
After the Talisker Whisky Distillery was founded in 1831 by the MacAskill brothers on the Scottish island of Skye, it experienced several strokes of fate. Among other things, a fire in 1960 destroyed the stills. When procuring new stills, great care was taken to ensure they did not differ from the old ones, in order to preserve the original taste of the whisky. After all, it's not only the casks that influence a whisky's aroma and taste profile!
01/Nose
Powerful peat smoke and salty aromas on the nose.
02/Palate
On the palate it is soft with notes of dried fruits, plus smoke and intense malty barley. In the finish pepper and slightly sweet.
