Due Lune Nerello Mascalese/Nero d'Avola

The Cellaro winery is located in the southwest of the island in the municipality of Sambuca di Sicilia (Agrigento), near Lago Arancio. The excellent microclimate, characterised by the southeast-facing position and the proximity to the lake, protects the vines from excessive heat and drought. In the roughly 30-hectare vineyards grow the regionally typical varieties Grillo, Chardonnay, Nero d'Avola, Nerello, Merlot and Shiraz. From these varieties, products of outstanding quality and high typicity are pressed. For the native and late-ripening red varieties Nerello Mascalese and Nerello Capuccio, as well as for the white grape variety Grillo, the winery is regarded as "THE" specialist of the island. The Due Lune owes its name to the lunar cycle, which plays a major role in its creation process. Cantine Cellaro has always worked with the moon and its phases.
