How this wine tastes
Grey with a slight blue tinge, the slate appears up here, high above the Douro valley. The colour is likely an indication of tin deposits in the soil. Indeed, a tin mine was once operated near the enchantingly situated Quinta de San José. The view extends far across the roughly 15 hectares of the family estate. The feelings, however, run almost as deep as the roots of the vines in this steep, stony terrain.
