How this wine tastes
The history of the winery goes back over 250 years and the historic cellar building from 1764 is still in use today. The Douro was also the world's first delimited and regulated wine region, in 1756. Since 1999 the estate has been owned by the Amorim family. Today it is run by Luisa Amorim in the fourth generation. The winery is the first estate in the Douro with single-variety planting. Local grape varieties, oriented to the south and west and exposed to hot, dry winds, ripen in the Mediterranean microclimate into wines of pronounced character. The Alto Douro wine region was added to the UNESCO World Heritage list in 2001, recognising an extensive mountainous wine-growing region that is unique in the world.
01/Nose
Intense, crystalline and fresh wine with an exciting complexity.
02/Palate
The long finish resembles a bouquet of various aromas of meadow flowers, green apples and vine peach, somewhat playful with the intense taste of white flesh and lime.
