How this wine tastes
A one-off bottling marking the 110th anniversary of Bodegas Juan Gil in Jumilla, founded in 1916 by Juan Gil Jiménez. Pure Monastrell from the estate's own high-altitude vineyards around the winery, grown without irrigation. The «Hijos de Juan Gil Guerrero» label draws on the house's first designs.
01/Colour
Cherry red with ruby highlights.
02/Nose
Dark fruits, blueberries and cassis, with fine oak, cocoa, liquorice and wild herbs, framed by elegant toasty notes.
03/Palate
Ripe and rich, with silky, well-integrated tannins, a hint of bitterness and lively acidity. Long finish with balsamic and spicy notes.
