How this spirit tastes

The name of the Maund (Jamaica) Rum from the Swiss brand "The Wild Alps" goes back to the passionate alpinist and hunter John Oakley Maund, who became famous above all for his ascents in the Mont Blanc massif. In Weggis on Lake Lucerne and in Schoppernau in Vorarlberg, he had a total of three villas built according to designs by William Morris. The houses, in typical English cottage style, still stand today. Villa Maund, however, achieved extraordinary fame, and numerous legends surround it. The German Crown Prince Wilhelm used the house as a hunting lodge for a time, and many celebrities came and went here. Ultimately, Villa Maund served as the inspiration for the creations of The Wild Alps. This is also reflected in the artistic bottle label of this rum, which is inspired by William Morris's velvet prints. The twice-awarded Jamaican rum was allowed to mature for 12 years to develop its typical aroma. Upon opening the bottle, the nose is immediately filled with raisins, wood, roasted aromas and even caramel. The palate is strongly spicy to slightly peppery and is somewhat reminiscent of roasted coffee and dried fruit.
