This ambitious project was launched by the entrepreneur and wine lover Alfonso Cortina. In realising his ideas, he really left nothing to chance. He selected an exceptional plot of land near Toledo, on the edge of the well-known nature reserve "Cabañeros", and commissioned the renowned Australian viticulture expert Dr. Richard Smart to lay out the vineyards. 31 hectares of land were planted with typical Bordeaux and Rhône grape varieties, situated at 850 m above sea level in the Montes de Toledo. The continental climate, with hot summers and cooler nights during the harvest period, is perfect for the ripening of the grapes and the development of aromas in the final phase of maturation. An ambitious, young team of oenologists and wine experts produces exceptionally harmonious and profound wines here, in a modern cellar facility, which now rank among the best produced in the southern half of the Iberian Peninsula. Renowned wine critics such as Robert Parker and José Peñin did not take long to award top ratings.
