How this wine tastes
The grapes come from two very old vineyards located in La Horra at 800-837 m above sea level. The vineyards have different soil types: while the vines in the Barroso vineyard are rooted in calcareous soils with gravel cover, in the San Cristobal vineyard they grow on clay soils.
Peter Sisseck is very pleased with the Pingus 2021. He says that years of optimising vineyard work have enabled them to create something great every year. The most difficult thing in warmer years is maintaining balance, and this has been achieved perfectly this year. An incredibly fine structure with rich tannin and wonderful freshness. Peter compares the wine to the great 2000 vintage.

01/Colour
Dense violet.
02/Nose
On the nose, dark berries such as cherries and blackberries, with a hint of clove and cinnamon.
03/Palate
The aromatics are perfectly clean and precise with well-integrated oak, along with remarkably fine tannins that give the wine a velvety mouthfeel. Another great achievement from Peter Sisseck!
