How this wine tastes
Carschluns is a Romansh place name meaning «belonging to the castle». In 1995, this plot at Schloss Salenegg was planted with original French Burgundy vines. What is special about these vines are the small-berried grapes with correspondingly low yield, but unique aromatics in return.
The winemaking for the Carschluns is elaborate. A large part of the grapes go whole and with stalks into the wooden vat for fermentation. Later, the grapes are gently trodden by foot. One year of ageing in French barriques.

Cinnamon, herb garden (thyme, rosemary), tobacco, black pepper, vanilla, cassis and more… are the notes.
02/Palate
On the palate it is equally impressive. Powerful elegance, a firework from the first to the last sip. A wine created for all lovers of great Pinot Noir.
