How this wine tastes
The vineyards of Pommard stretch from the border with Beaune, the heart of Burgundy, to Volnay. There is a certain rivalry between the two villages of Pommard and Volnay. The wines of Pommard are often darker and denser, and also richer in tannin. The traditionally cultivated Pinot Noir is a diva. For every winemaker, working with it presents a great challenge, both in the vineyard and in the cellar. It requires a great deal of finesse.
01/Colour
Medium ruby red with sparkling garnet reflections.
02/Nose
A finely structured, silky nose with aromas of strawberries, cherries, a discreet, peppery spiciness paired with lovely notes from ageing (smoke, wood), and a fine, earthy nuance.
03/Palate
A long entry on the palate, noticeable compote notes, fine tannins in the mid-palate, well-integrated acidity, with ageing aromatics in the aftertaste.
