How this wine tastes
The winery is located in the Uco Valley in the Mendoza region, home to the highest vineyards (between 1200 and 1500 m above sea level). Alpasión, just as its name promises, was born from pure, almost exuberant passion. The people at the winery share this passion with us in the most generous way. Their love for Argentina and for excellent wine brought them together and inspired this project. They hired Karim Mussi Saffie, one of Argentina's finest oenologists. The vines and wines are tended and produced with the utmost sustainability in every respect. Organic standards are so much a given here that they barely need mentioning. On the Alpasión labels, you'll find the fingerprints and signatures of all the people who work together on this project.
01/Colour
Dark purple with garnet accents.
02/Nose
On the nose, dark berry aromas with hints of blueberry, plus liquorice and cocoa.
03/Palate
Very fruit-driven on the palate. Plums and a trace of wild thyme. The tannins are just beginning to mature and are skilfully integrated. Delicious toasted notes, dark chocolate and a touch of Cuban tobacco. A very long, mineral finish.
