How this spirit tastes
The Berner Rosenapfel is a variety of the cultivated apple Malus domestica. It is a winter apple. It was discovered as a chance seedling around 1870 by F. Baumann in a forest near Oppligen, canton of Bern, and spread by the Daepp nursery in Münsingen after the first fruits were harvested in 1888.
Our Berner Rosenäpfel are mashed and distilled at just the right time. The distillate is then placed in barriques and aged for several years.
It is very distinctive in fruit, with a pleasant finish.
