How this wine tastes
In the lovely hilly landscape of Tuscany, south of Florence, the 12th-century castle lies amidst the vines. On the 102-hectare estate, vines grow on 52 hectares and olive trees on 20 hectares, the rest consisting of fruit trees and forest. In recent years, the original wine cellar has been renovated with small and large wooden barrels. In addition to producing wine, olive oil and wine vinegar, Castello di Gabbiano also offers guest rooms.
01/Colour
Intense, deep ruby red with a dark core.
02/Nose
On the nose, pine needles and pitch, balsamic, with blackcurrants and sugar in the aftertaste.
03/Palate
On the palate very velvety with tightly woven tannin and fine richness, dark chocolate with a sweet coating in the middle, long finish with a light-footed finale.
