How this wine tastes
The Chilean winery is located in Caliboro (Maule Region), about 300 km south of Santiago de Chile. It was founded in 2001 by winemaker Pilar Miranda Avendaño, her wine-mad husband Derek Mossmann and long-time friend Alvaro Peña – effectively in a garage. What began then as a project the size of a small family business was expanded into a proper winery through the purchase of ever more parcels. Pilar, Derek and Alvaro now cultivate around 35 hectares of vineyard, spread across 16 different sites. That also means 16 different wines, as Garage Wine Co. is a pure «single vineyard project».

Shows plenty of character on entry, coming across as juicy and firm at the same time; the fine-grained tannins have good grip and stand up well to the subtle richness. Long on the finish, tart-fruity and wonderfully refreshing.
