How this wine tastes
The Chilean winery is located in Caliboro (Maule Region), about 300 km south of Santiago de Chile. It was founded in 2001 by winemaker Pilar Miranda Avendaño, her wine-mad husband Derek Mossmann and long-time friend Alvaro Peña – effectively in a garage. What began then as a project the size of a small family business was expanded into a proper winery through the purchase of ever more parcels. Pilar, Derek and Alvaro now cultivate around 35 hectares of vineyard, spread across 16 different sites. That also means 16 different wines, as Garage Wine Co. is a pure «single vineyard project».

Splendid Cabernet nose of blueberries, cassis, eucalyptus and spicy hints, with a touch of roasted pepper and herbs; the balance of ripeness and freshness is superb.
03/Palate
Very layered on the palate too, the oak is perfectly integrated and provides wonderful complexity. The tannins are of the finest quality, and thanks to the high-altitude vineyard this Cabernet Sauvignon drinks with remarkable freshness. Long on the finish, with a perfect symbiosis of alluring fruit, impressive power and cool elegance.
