How this wine tastes
Grey with a slight blue tinge, the slate appears here high above the Douro valley. The colour is probably an indication of the presence of tin in the soil. After all, a tin mine was once operated near the enchantingly situated Quinta de San José. The view stretches far across the roughly 15 hectares of the family estate. But the feelings run almost as deep as the roots of the vines in the steep, stony terrain.
