Cave Emery
Twelve hectares in Ayent, and tasting grottoes instead of an advertising budget.
Get to know Cave Emery
Cave Emery is located in the hamlet of Argnou in Ayent, at around 800 metres between Sierre and Sion. Louis-Bernard Emery took over the estate from Albert Emery, and since February 2025 Mathieu Emery has run the business as director. The estate has been operating since 1954, working according to integrated production.
Gold at the Grand Prix du Vin Suisse 2025
The Onyx Noir 2023 won a gold medal at the Grand Prix du Vin Suisse 2025. This is complemented by gold at Expovina and at the Mondial du Merlot. The range extends from Fendant through Petite Arvine and Heida to Syrah, Humagne Rouge and Pinot Noir.
No advertising budget, but grottoes instead
The estate deliberately forgoes advertising and puts the money into wine tourism instead. The result: tasting grottoes in Saint-Léonard as well as two converted vineyard cottages turned into studios, La Guérite du Johannisberg and La Guérite de la Syrah. Anyone wishing to get to know the wines should come there rather than read an advert.
