How this wine tastes
The growing region for this aromatic red wine is Salento (Apulia), located at the very heel of Italy's boot in the far south. Warm temperatures and cooling sea breezes create an optimal climate. This allows the Primitivo grapes to dry slightly on the vine through evaporation (appassito). This produces the desired concentration of aromas in the grape berry. Hand-harvested, the grapes are brought to the winery, pressed and fermented. The wine is then aged for approximately 6 months in French oak barriques. Masso Antico is a distinctly full-bodied and dense red wine with soft tannins and fine vanilla notes.
