Get to know Maires Bodega y Viñedos

Bodega Maires stands for authentic wines from the Spanish D.O. Toro, shaped by old vines, family history and a deep connection to the region. Behind the estate are cousins Fernando and Pablo, who revived their family's winemaking tradition in 2015, creating a project that combines tradition and modernity.

Four generations in the name

The name «Maires» is far more than a brand name: it stands for four generations of winemaking history and for the passion to produce characterful wines with a sense of place. The vineyards are spread across various sites within the D.O. Toro and include vines that are in some cases over 100 years old, a valuable heritage that lends the wines depth, concentration and expression.

High altitude sites and a continental climate

The vineyards lie at altitudes of 620 to 870 metres in a continental climate with wide temperature swings. Old Tinta de Toro vines, poor soils and careful hand-harvesting form the basis for powerful, elegant wines with a distinctive character.

Respect for nature and terroir

At the heart of the philosophy is respect for nature. From vineyard to bottle, the estate pursues the goal of creating wines that authentically reflect the essence of the Toro region: intense, expressive and at the same time precisely vinified. Wines such as the Ademán Valdearanda Crianza DO show how modern winemaking and centuries-old tradition come together in harmony.
