Primitivo del Salento Apassimento IGT Masso Antico

The growing area for this aromatic red wine is the Salento region (Apulia), located at the heel of the Italian boot, right in the south. Warm temperatures and cooling sea winds create an optimal climate. This allows the grapes of the Primitivo variety to dry slightly on the vine through evaporation (appassito). This brings about the desired concentration of aromas in the grape berry. Hand-picked, the harvest is brought to the winery, pressed and fermented. The wine is then allowed to mature for approximately 6 months in French oak barriques. Masso Antico is a distinctly full-bodied and dense red wine with soft tannins and fine vanilla notes.
